The remains of 30 people whose bodies were not claimed will be buried at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 100 N. Espina圣.在拉斯克鲁塞斯. The ceremony will be open to the public.

Each of the bodies was cremated and the remains have been in the custody of the Doña安娜县 健康 and 人类服务 Department for at least two years, as required by state law. No family or friends came forward, during that period to claim the remains.

Doña安娜县 pays for the cremation and eventual burial of the remains of indigent individuals who die in Doña安娜县.  They are interred at St. 约瑟夫公墓.

The unclaimed remains of military veterans are buried each year at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with full military honors.
